Isn't this just an expensive pillowcase? +

Real silk can't be made cheaply. If you see one for $19, it's polyester satin — and polyester has roughly the same friction problem as cotton.

How do I know it's real silk? +

Burn a loose thread from the seam. Real silk smells like burnt hair, self-extinguishes, and leaves a crushable ash. Polyester smells chemical, melts into a hard bead, and keeps burning. We'd rather you test it than take our word.

Won't it be a nightmare to wash? +

Machine wash cold on delicate in a mesh bag, hang to dry. No dry cleaning. It'll outlast your cotton cases by years.

Will it actually make a difference? +

For breakage and frizz — yes, and you'll notice within a couple of weeks. For hair growth — no, and we're not going to pretend otherwise. This removes one cause of damage. It doesn't treat thinning.
